why ghee?

The standard American diet (s.A.D. ☹) is rife with low-quality cooking oils. Even when we do go for the good oils, like extra virgin olive oil or avocado oil, the chances that they’ve been adulterated with lesser oils is unacceptably high. On top of that, many oils oxidize at higher temps, meaning that they contribute to oxidative stress and inflammation in our bodies.

We turned to ghee because it’s a safe option that cuts through the noise. Our ghee centers on one ingredient: grassfed and pasture raised butter. For our flavored ghee, we use pure, whole spices and produce: no fillers, sugars, random oils, or preservatives.

An added bonus is that ghee is an ancestral food with ancient roots in India, where the golden nectar has been a kitchen staple for millennia. In India, ghee is the secret ingredient in everything from rice to curries. In some places, you will even find it in chai or at a religious ritual.
