it all begins with a story
Our founders Surya and Morgan met in Montana, where she writes and he spearheads a high-end knife business. In her free time, Surya made all sorts of kitchen concoctions: sauerkraut, bread, and her beloved ghee.
Morgan was new to ghee but noticed that it was a kitchen staple for Surya and an object of passion: her ghee was delicious, grassfed, fit into her lactose-free diet, and was a family tradition. A master of nicknames, he began to affectionately call her the “Empress of Ghee.”
A few months later, Morgan convinced Surya to sell her ghee at the local farmer’s market. It was a hit, and the two haven’t looked back since. They are stoked to run a business that celebrates food as both medicine and culture.
